The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper is one of the most popular newspapers in Russia. Komsomolskaya Pravda has been issued since 1925, and during the Soviet period, it was an official authority of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League party organization, that is why it was used to contain lots of ideological and political information. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Komsomolskaya Pravda has mainly become a diverting newspaper, while politics went into the background. Nowadays it is a daily newspaper with the circulation of 665 thousand copies (its readership is more than 2 million), and its weekly “thick newspaper” issue, issued on Thursday, has a circulation of 2.2 million copies in Russia (with its readership of more than 4.5 million). Its volume is 24-48 pages.
The advertising placement policy of Komsomolskaya Pravda is notable for its high flexibility. There are standard advertising modules and different substandard forms, different advertising placement blocks in several titles of the Komsomolskaya Pravda publishing house, preparation of the personal 4-pages advertising issue, issue branding and many others. Advertising in the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper is a great tool to promote goods or services for the wide Russian audience.
Readership of Komsomolskaya Pravda includes wide sections of the population: from managers to workers, from wealthy people to low-income individuals, from highly educated people to people with lower level of education, from schoolchildren to retirees. The core of the readership consists of people from 35 to 54 years old. Women prevail.
The diverting content is most preferable for the editorial policy: global and Russian news of all spheres of life such as politics, society, concurrencies, and crime reports. Apart from that, the content of the newspaper consists of the society column, sports, interesting life stories of ordinary people, and social news coverage – ordinary people’s problems. The hallmark of the newspaper is its easy manner of content presentation: authors of Komsomolskaya Pravda communicate with the readers as if they were old friends. The newspaper also publishes horoscopes, crosswords, funny stories and life hacks.
