Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk International Airport (UUS) is the main airport of the Sakhalin region. It handled over 1.4 million passengers in 2025 (Sakhalin regional transport ministry data, February 2026). Moscow is the dominant trunk route, reaching up to 25 weekly flights in the August peak, and a new runway able to receive all aircraft types is under construction. The airport marked its 80th anniversary in September 2025. RMAA Agency arranges advertising placements at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
City Description
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is the administrative centre of Russia's only island region, where air transport carries nearly all long-distance passenger movement to and from the mainland. Oil and gas projects on the island add recurring rotational and corporate travel to resident demand, a flow with schedule-driven regularity that few mainland regions match. The airport lies at the edge of the city with short road access, serving southern Sakhalin.
