Airport Description

Grozny (Severny) International Airport named after A.A. Kadyrov (GRV) is the only airport of the Chechen Republic. It handled 951,500 passengers in 2024, the latest year with an officially reported total (Interfax, December 2025), after first passing the 1 million mark in 2023. A large-scale reconstruction, including a new 3.2 km runway able to receive all aircraft types, is scheduled for completion in 2026. RMAA Agency arranges advertising placements at Grozny Airport.

City Description

Grozny is the administrative and economic centre of the Chechen Republic, and the airport concentrates the region's entire scheduled air traffic. The route network has covered 17 destinations across six countries, served by carriers including Aeroflot, S7, Utair, Ural Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways and SCAT (Interfax, 2024). The airport lies at the northern edge of the city with short road access to the centre, which is why it carries the historical name Severny.
