Mineralnye Vody International Airport named after M.Yu. Lermontov (MRV) is the main airport of the Caucasus Mineral Waters resort region. It handled 4.6 million passengers in 2025, compared with 4.8 million in 2024, as the reopened airports of Krasnodar and Gelendzhik redistributed part of southern demand (Expert, February 2026). It remains one of the ten busiest airports in Russia. RMAA Agency arranges advertising placements at Mineralnye Vody for resort and health-tourism passengers.
City Description
Mineralnye Vody serves a cluster of spa cities including Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk and Essentuki rather than a single destination. Health-resort stays produce long-duration visits and repeat annual travel, a demand pattern distinct from short leisure trips and less sensitive to single-season swings. The airport connects to the resort cities by rail and road corridors, so arriving passengers disperse across the whole agglomeration rather than one urban centre.
