City Description
Makhachkala is the capital of Dagestan, whose tourism flow has grown sharply in recent years: the republic expected around 2 million tourists in 2025 (regional reporting, January 2026), and airport traffic has doubled since 2019 on the back of that demand. The airport carries this visitor flow together with dense resident travel to Moscow and international routes to the Gulf and Central Asia. Uytash lies south of Makhachkala near Kaspiysk, with road access along the coastal corridor.
